Gators Final Four Duo of Gailis & Dudeney Named All-Americans
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida’s Alicia Dudeney and Rachel Gailis have been named ITA All-Americans following their run to the semifinals of the NCAA Doubles Championships earlier this season. Dudeney and Gailis’ All-American honor now puts the programs historical count at 63.
The pair earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament by winning the ITA Southeast Regional Championship on Oct. 22, going 5-0 through the event. At the NCAA Championships, Dudeney and Gailis added three more wins to enter the semifinals, including a victory over No. 1 seeded UCLA in the quarterfinals.
Dudeney and Gailis entered the NCAA semifinals with an impressive 8-0 record, but their historic run came to an end against No. 3 Virginia. The Gators were narrowly defeated by Virginia’s duo of, Melodie Collard and Elaine Chervinsky, in a tiebreaker.
Following their trip to the NCAA Championship, Dudeney and Gailis earned their highest national ranking of their collegiate career at No. 3. The duo then remained in the nation’s top-25 for six consecutive months.

- Win an ITA Regional Championship and earn a berth into the NCAA Championship
- Advance to at least the quarterfinals of the NCAA Doubles Championships
- Finish in the Top 10 of the final ITA Doubles Rankings in May
Dudeney and Gailis met the criteria by reaching the NCAA semifinals.
