TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State soccer team had three players selected for the 2025 CONCACAF Women’s U-20 Championship. The competition will be hosted in Alajuela, Costa Rica and played from May 29 – June 8.

Janet Okeke will represent the Canadian national team following multiple call-ups in previous international windows. The transfer sophomore achieved a bronze medal at the 2022 edition of the championship and has made two appearances at the U-20 and U-17 levels of the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Peyton McGovern and Ashlyn Puerta will represent the United States national team. McGovern and Puerta have each been regular call-ups for the stars and stripes and look to advance to the championship final for a second consecutive iteration.

The championship will serve as qualification for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland. Four teams will advance from the group stage to the semifinals, securing a spot in next year’s World Cup.

The United States will face Guyana, Puerto Rico, and hosts Costa Rica in Group A while Canada will face Panama, Nicaragua, and Mexico in Group B.
