TALLAHASSEE – Florida State alums Makayla Timpson and Natasha Howard will suit up for the Indiana Fever for the 2025 WNBA season, as the team announced its opening day rosters on Thursday.

Timpson, who was selected in 19th in the 2025 WNBA Draft, was the only rookie to make the 11-player roster, while Howard is an 11th-year veteran.

The Fever open the season on Saturday by hosting the Chicago Sky at 3 p.m. on ABC.

Timpson became the seventh player in ACC history to produce a 100-block season, breaking her own record at 103 in 2024-25. She also broke her own single-season rebounding record at 350. Timpson tied the ACC Tournament record with eight blocks in the quarterfinal and led all Power 4 players with 3.12 blocks per game.  She was the only player to register three eight-block games last season.

Timpson earned All-America honorable mention by the WBCA and Associated Press, finishing the season averaging 17.5 points, 10.6 rebounds and 3.1 blocks per game. She was a two-time All-ACC First Team selection.

Timpson left Florida State as the career record holder in rebounds at 1,094, and double-doubles at 47 after passing Howard’s marks set back from 2011-14.

Howard was the fifth overall selection in the 2014 WNBA Draft by the Fever. She is a three-time WNBA Champion and was tabbed the Defensive Player of the Year in 2019.  Howard is a two-time All-Defensive Team selection and was named the Most Improved Player in 2018.

For her career, Howard averages 17.6 points per game, 6.7 rebound and 2.9 assists.

In three preseason games, Timpson averaged 5.0 points per game, while shooting 40 percent.  Howard contributed 9.7 points per game, while shooting 52.4 percent and grabbed 5.7 rebounds.
