TALLAHASSEE – Florida State head coach Amy Bond, the 2025 ACC Coach of the Year, has been named to the Division I Jackie Steinmann WGCA National Coach of the Year Presented by Golf Pride Watch List. Bond and her Seminoles begin play in the NCAA Championship Finals at the Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, Calif., on Friday as one of 30 teams who will play for the national championship in women’s golf.

Bond has led the Seminoles to a No. 2 ranking by the Women’s Gold Coaches Association and a No. 4 ranking by the NCAA. The Seminoles won the ACC Championship for the first time in school history on April 19 and won the title at the NCAA Lexington Regional championship on May 7. Including the ACC and NCAA regional championships, Bond has guided the Seminoles to the seven tournament team championships – at the Landfall Tradition, the Collegiate Invitational at the Guadalajara Country Club, the Moon Invitational, the Briar’s Creek Invitational, the Florida State Match Up, the ACC Championship, and the NCAA Lexington regional championship.

During competition in its 11 events this year, Bond has led Florida State to a 123-8-1 record. The Seminoles’ 123 wins is the fifth-highest wins total in the nation, while their eight losses are the second fewest by any team in the nation.

Bond has guided the Seminoles to the NCAA Championship Finals for the school-record ninth consecutive year. The Seminoles are one of only four teams in the nation – Florida State, Stanford, Texas, and Southern Cal – who have advanced to the NCAA Championship finals in each of the last nine seasons.

The Seminoles, who have appeared in each championship event since 2016, have advanced to match play in 2022 and 2023 to finish in fifth place at the NCAA Championships – tied for the highest finishes in school history.

Bond, who was named as the ACC Coach of the in both 2017 and 2015, is the winningest women’s golf coach in school history with 26 tournament wins as the Seminoles’ head coach. She has guided each of her teams to the NCAA Tournament, and been ranked within the nation’s top 10 during the entire spring 2025 season.

Bond was presented with the prestigious Gladys Palmer Meritorious Service Award by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association on December 9, 2024. The award is given in recognition of outstanding service above and beyond the call of duty and is the most prestigious award presented by the WGCA.

In the last five seasons, her Seminoles have been ranked No. 1 in the nation, won three NCAA Regional Championships, one ACC Championship, achieved the best NCAA finish in school history, won 20 tournament championships, had five different players named All-American honors and four earn All-ACC honors.

The Seminoles begin play in the six-day NCAA national championship tournament Friday. The field of 30 will be cut to 15 after three rounds of stroke play, then to eight teams following the fourth round of stroke play. The quarterfinals and semifinals of match play will be played on Tuesday, with the match play finals (the tournament championship) played on Wednesday.
