Walton County Public Works Announces Temporary Road Closure

Walton County Public Works will close King Lake Road to thru traffic on Monday, May 12, 2025, for the replacement of a failed cross pipe. The closure will be located between 4041 King Lake Road and 4103 King Lake Road.  Local traffic will be able to access King Lake Road from either direction.    

The road closure is necessary to ensure the safety of work crews and the public while the replacement work is completed. A failed cross pipe can lead to significant road damage and potential hazards if not address promptly.

• Date: Monday, May 12, 2025
• Location: King Lake Road between 4041 King Lake Road 
   and 4103 King Lake Road
• Reason: Replacement of failed cross pipe
• Traffic Impact: Closed to thru traffic

Important Note: The road may remain closed overnight depending on the progress of the work. Walton County Public Works will make every effort to complete the project as quickly and efficiently as possible. Residents living within the closure area will be able to exit in either direction from the closure point.
 All planned construction activities are weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather

Notification and Communication

Walton County Public Works is committed to keeping the public informed throughout the project. The following measures are being taken:

• Message Boards: Electronic message boards will be placed on King Lake Road this week to provide advance notice of the closure.
• Direct Notification: All impacted parties, including residents directly affected by the closure, are being notified.
• Website and Social Media: Press Release will be posted on the Walton County website.
