BRIGHTON, Mass. – The No. 8 Florida State softball team (46-9) fell to No. 14 Clemson (44-12), 2-1, on Saturday afternoon in the ACC Championship Game.

The Noles got a great start from the pitching staff as they held the Tigers scoreless for six innings. FSU got on the board in the bottom of the third as Hallie Wacaser led off the inning with a solo home run to center field to give FSU the lead. After having just two hits in the first six innings, the Tigers drew a leadoff walk and took advantage with a two-run home run for their third hit of the day to give the Tigers the lead.

FSU got its first two batters on base in the bottom of the seventh as Annabelle Widra and Isa Torres hit back-to-back singles, but the Noles were unable to bring a run across.

FSU will learn its postseason fate tomorrow during the NCAA Selection Show at 7 p.m. on ESPN2.
