SERIES HISTORY VS. CAL
The Seminoles are 3-1 all-time against Cal, including 2-1 in Tallahassee and 1-0 at a neutral site. A 5-4 win at the 1992 College World Series began the series, but it wasn’t until a weekend set at Dick Howser Stadium in 2022 that the two teams would meet again. Florida State posted 4-3 and 7-4 wins in the first two games, on March 4 and 5, before a 5-3 loss in 10 innings in the finale. FSU travels to California for the first time since it earned a pair of wins at Stanford in 2003.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN BEARS
Cal is 19-27 on the season, 9-15 at home and 10-12 on the road. The Golden Bears are 6-18 in their inaugural season in the ACC. Cal is coming off a 13-3 victory at Pacific on Tuesday night, a win that snapped a nine-game losing streak. UC is 5-10 against top-25 foes, with a sweep at then-No. 14 Stanford and single wins vs. No. 23 Virginia and at No. 18 Louisville.

The Bears have scored 306 runs on 448 hits with 64 home runs and a .282 batting average. The pitching staff has a 5.96 ERA with 260 earned runs allowed on 407 hits and 376 strikeouts. Jacob French leads the team with a .356 batting average, Jarren Advincula has 69 hits and Cade Campbell has 35 RBI. Tremain has a 4-5 record with a team-best 3.26 ERA in 30.1 innings and 18 starts, while Austin Turkington has struck out 62 batters in 54.2 innings.

UP NEXT: FINAL REGULAR-SEASON WEEKEND
Florida State returns home for the final regular-season weekend against North Carolina from May 15-17 at Dick Howser Stadium. The series begins with two contests on the ACC Network at 7 p.m. ET, on Thursday, May 15, and Friday, May 16. The regular-season finale is on Saturday, May 17, at 2 p.m. ET. Tickets are available at Seminoles.com/Tickets or by calling the FSU ticket office at 850-644-1830.

LAST TIME OUT: RUN-RULE WIN COMPLETES SERIES SWEEP
FSU defeated Jacksonville 14-2 in seven innings to finish the series sweep in its final Tuesday game of the season on May 6.  The Seminoles benefited from a four-run fourth inning and a nine-run fifth.

Junior second baseman Drew Faurot hit two home runs and extended his hit streak to eight consecutive at-bats with another four-hit day. In the last two games, Faurot is 8-8 with four home runs, two doubles, eight RBI and 22 total bases. He had four hits, four RBI and four runs scored with his two homers and two doubles on Tuesday, all team bests. Faurot is the first Seminole to have a hit in at least seven consecutive at-bats since Reese Albert also had eight in a row in February, 2022. Faurot’s two home runs tonight give him 13 on the season.

Lodise had two hits, three RBI and two runs scored with a pair of walks. He has hits in five consecutive at-bats and also made two spectacular defensive plays. Sophomore Cal Fisher added two hits, two RBI and two runs in the win.

Redshirt junior left-hander Jacob Marlowe made his first start as a Seminole and earned his first win. In a season-best 3.0 innings, he did not allow a run on three hits with two strikeouts and one walk.
