Marlowe retired the side in the first and got a lineout to end the second and leave runners on the corners. He stranded one in the third before a leadoff single ended his night in the fourth. Martinez then struck out two to end the threat.
FSU scored four in the fourth to extend its lead to 5-0. A groundout brought home Faurot before the next three runs all scored with two outs. First was a wild pitch with the bases loaded that brought home sophomore left fielder Chase Williams. Then it was a two-RBI single up the middle by junior center fielder Max Williams that plated two more.
Fourteen Noles came to the plate in a nine-run fifth inning. Faurot got the scoring started with a two-run home run, and Lodise then roped a bases-clearing double down the left field line with the bags full to make it 10-0. With two outs, Fisher doubled home another two, Faurot doubled in Fisher and redshirt freshman pinch hitter Brody DeLamielleure scored Faurot on an RBI double. Six hits were recorded in the inning.
Jacksonville got its only two runs in the sixth on an RBI double and run-scoring groundout, but a strikeout ended the threat with two on.
