TALLAHASSEE – The top-seeded Florida State softball team (44-8, 18-3) begins its chase for a 20th ACC Tournament Championship this week at the ACC Tournament in Brighton, Massachusetts, on the campus of Boston College. Top-Seeded Noles Look to Bring Home Some More Hardware

  • The top-seeded Seminoles have had great success in the ACC Tournament and will look to bring home another ACC Championship.
  • FSU has won 19 ACC Championships, the most of any ACC team, and have won eight out of the last 10 tournaments.
  • An ACC Tournament Championship would be FSU’s 35th combined ACC Championship (Regular Season and Tournament). That mark is the most of any team in the country.
  • Every year FSU has won the ACC Regular Season Championship, the Noles have gone on to win the ACC Tournament.

Noles’ ACC Tournament History

  • Florida State has won 19 ACC Tournament Championships with their first coming in 1992.

  • FSU has been to the ACC Championship Game 26 times in the 31 years that FSU has been in the ACC Tournament.
  • FSU is 78-21 (.788) all-time in the ACC Tournament, outscoring their opponents 464-188.
  • FSU is 37-6 in the ACC Tournament since Lonni Alameda became the head coach in 2009. In that time period, FSU won nine of the 16 ACC Titles.

Last Time Out

  • FSU made quite the statement last weekend in Blacksburg as they took the series from No. 15 Virginia Tech to secure its 15th ACC Regular Season Championship.
  • In its two wins over the Hokies, FSU outscored Virginia Tech 21-4 and outscored the Hokies 27-12 throughout the series.

Jazzy Francik Makes History in Blacksburg

  • Francik became the first FSU true freshman to throw a no-hitter since Lacey Waldrop in 2012
  • Francik threw six innings and retired 18 out of the 21 batters she faced.
  • Saturday was the first time Virginia Tech had been no hit since 2018.

FSU Still Proving It Is One of The Top Teams in the Country

  • There is no need to overthink it. FSU is one of the top teams in the country in one of the nation’s top conferences.
  • In a conference that is ranked second in the RPI and has 10 teams in the top 50 RPI including five teams in the top 25, FSU dominated the ACC on its way to the ACC Regular Season Championship.

  • Florida State softball is beginning to look like Florida State softball once again as the Noles enter the postseason.
