Florida Falls 4-1 to UCF on Sunday Afternoon

ORLANDO, Fla. —  The Gators fell 4-1 to No. 15 UCF on Sunday closing out their 2024-2025 season. Florida struggled in doubles play and only found success on one court in singles play.

On the doubles side it was a tough outing for UF as ranked pair No. 15 Tanapatt Nirundorn and Henry Jefferson fell to No. 55 Liam Branger and Paul Colin 6-4. The Knights clinched the doubles point after Mehdi Benchakroun and Santiago Giamichelle defeated Kevin Edengren and Ben Weintraub 6-4.

 

UCF continued its momentum striking first in singles with a 6-3, 7-5 win from Nicolas Oliveira over Niels Villard on court six.

 

No. 41 Ganesan opened the scoring column for the Orange and Blue as he cruised to a 6-2, 6-4 win against No. 63 Yassine Dlimi. Despite the effort to get the Gators into a rhythm UCF claimed back-to-back courts to secure the win.

 

JanMagnus Johnson battle Branger on court three. The first set was a close match between the two, but Johnson fell 7-5. Johnson was bested 6-3 in the second set, giving the Knight their third point.

 

The match was sealed on court two in a match featuring No. 82 Jin and No. 84 Benchakroun. Benchakroun took the first set 6-4, and defeated Jin 6-4 in the second.

ITA RANKINGS

As a team, Florida sits at No. 29 in the ITA rankings. Two Gators are ranked in singles competition: Adhithya Ganesan at No. 41 and Jeremy Jin at No. 82. UF also has two ranked doubles pairs featuring Tanapatt Nirundorn and Henry Jefferson at No. 15, followed by Nirundorn and Ganesan at No. 83.
