No. 15 Alabama Men’s Golf Earns 27th NCAA Regional Appearance

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The No. 15 Alabama men’s golf team was one of 81 teams selected to compete in the 2025 NCAA Men’s Golf Championships, announced Wednesday afternoon on the Golf Channel. The Crimson Tide earned the No. 3 seed in the 14-team Reno Regional in Reno, Nev., which will take place at the Montreaux Golf and Country Club, May 12-14.

With this year’s selection, the Crimson Tide will make its 19th regional appearance under head coach Jay Seawell and its 27thappearance in the event overall.

“We are excited to bring our team to Reno and ready to get to work. Our boys are looking forward to the challenge and are excited for the opportunity. We earned the No. 3 seed in that regional but there are a lot of quality golf teams that are going to Reno, so it will be a great challenge and one we look forward to preparing for over the next couple of weeks.”

NCAA Reno Regional Information

  • The 14-team field is headlined by No. 1 seed Texas, who is ranked No. 4 in the nation, followed by ACC Champion and ninth-ranked Virginia
  • Following No. 15 Alabama are No. 21 Duke and No. 28 Mississippi State to round out the top five seeds
  • The remaining teams in the Reno Regional include: No. 6 BYU, No. 7 San Diego, No. 8 Santa Clara, No. 9 California, No. 10 Grand Canyon, No. 11 San Houston State, No. 12 East Tennessee State, No. 13 Central Arkansas and No. 14 Fairfield
  • Three regional siteshave 13 teams and 10 individuals and three have 14 teams, including the Reno Regional, and five individuals
  • The top five teams and the low individual not on an advancing team from each regional site advancing to the 2024 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championships hosted by the University of Texas, in Carlsbad, Calif., at the Omni La Costa Golf Resort, from May 23-28
  • Alabama has claimed five regional championships in program history, which include: 2009 Galloway (N.J.) Regional, 2012 Athens (Ga.) Regional, 2013 Baton Rouge (La.) Regional, 2014 Auburn (Ala.) Regional, 2023 Norman (Okla.) Regional
  • The Crimson Tide has advanced to nationals 12 times under head coach Jay Seawell, securing back-to-back national championship titles in 2013 and 2014
