Gators Place Seven on All-Big 12 Team, Five on All-Newcomer Team and Capture Four Major Awards

IRVING, Texas – The Florida lacrosse team was well represented in the Big 12 end of season awards, as the Gators placed seven players on the All-Big 12 Team and five players on the All-Newcomer team. Florida took home four of eight major awards, announced by the league on Wednesday afternoon.

Kaitlyn Davies, Frannie Hahn, Gianna Monaco, Theresa Bragg, Ashley Dyer, Jenny Markey and Elyse Finnelle earned spots on the 18 player All-Big 12 Roster. Davies earned Big 12 Midfielder of the Year, Hahn captured Big 12 Freshman of the Year, Finnelle won Big 12 Goalkeeper of the Year and Head Coach Amanda O’Leary won Big 12 Coach of the Year.

Clark Hamilton, Jordan Basso Gabby Greene, Hahn and Markey were recognized on the Big 12 All-Newcomer Team. This team featured 12 student-athletes who were in their first year participating with the team they are now on.

Davies was the Preseason Big 12 Midfielder of the Year and earns the end-of-season midfielder of the year after a season where she posted 38 goals, seven assists, 30 draw controls, 24 ground balls and 18 caused turnovers. The Wayne, N.J. native posted seven hat-tricks, seven multi-ground ball games, four multi-caused turnover games and eight multi-draw control games. The two-way star ranks top-three on the Gators in goals (third), ground balls (third), caused turnovers (second) and draw controls (third).

Hahn earned Big 12 Freshman of the Year, after stepping onto the scene with 27 goals and 50 assists to lead UF in both points and assists. Hahn registered 17 ground balls and eight caused turnovers as well. The Catonsville, Md. native totaled three games this season with eight or more points, including a 10-point performance against James Madison on March 1 and an eight-assist game against Navy on March 12. The attacker has totaled two hat-tricks and eight games with three or more assists this season.

Finnelle took home Big 12 Goalkeeper of the Year after winning AAC Goalkeeper of the Year in 2024. The Deale, Md. native has made 77 saves this season on a .478 save percentage and a 10-0 record in goal. Finnelle recorded two double-digit save games this season, while making 42 saves over her last five games on a .667 save percentage.

O’Leary earns her 11th Coach/Coaching Staff of the Year award at Florida, as she has anchored the Gators to a 15-2 record overall and 5-0 in conference. After losing 78.5 percent of her offensive production from 2024, the Gators rank top-10 nationally in scoring offense (sixth), points per game (seventh) and assists per game (seventh). O’Leary currently has the Gators ranked fourth in the country, winning 12 consecutive games.

Bragg and Dyer each earned All-Big 12 honors, anchoring the Gators to the 11th best scoring defense in the country (9.29 goals allowed per game). Bragg leads the Gators in caused turnovers with 23, along with 20 ground balls and four draw controls. The Severna Park, Md. native has five games with two or more caused turnovers this season.

Dyer leads the Gators in ground balls with 31, while also causing 18 turnovers. The Elkridge, Md. native has scooped two or more ground balls in nine games, including a 10-game ground ball streak this season.

Monaco led the Gators in goals this season with 51, while also contributing 13 assists, 16 ground balls, nine caused turnovers and two draw controls. The Mount Laurel, N.J. native totaled a team high 11 hat-tricks, scoring a goal in all 15 games. Monaco delivered two game-winning goals for the Gators against Johns Hopkins on Feb. 7 and Penn on March 26.

Markey became a pivotal piece for the Gators on both sides of the field, recording 17 goals, four assists, 15 ground balls, 32 draw controls and seven caused turnovers. The Mount Sinai, N.Y. native has appeared in all 17 games, starting the last 10 games of the regular season. Markey has totaled two hat-tricks and has won a draw control in 11 consecutive games.

Basso and Hamilton each joined the Gators in 2025 and thrived as attackers in the orange and blue. Basso, a transfer from Gettysburg College, recorded 27 goals, 28 assists, 25 ground balls, five caused turnovers and two draw controls across 17 games played and 13 starts. The Rye, N.Y. native has totaled a point in all 17 games, scoring five hat-tricks.

Hamilton recorded 44 goals, 14 assists, 15 ground balls, three caused turnovers and five draw controls across 17 games played and nine starts. The Powder Springs, Ga. native totaled 10 hat-tricks, including setting a freshman record with five consecutive hat-tricks this season.

Greene became a key piece in the midfield for Florida, registering 19 goals, 11 ground balls, three caused turnovers and 23 draw controls across 17 games and one start. The Edgewater, Md. native totaled one hat-trick and seven multi-goal games this season.
