First-Seeded Gators to Take on UC Davis in Big 12 Tournament

BOULDER, Colo. – The fourth-ranked and first-seeded Gators (15-2, 5-0 Big 12) will take on fourth-seeded UC Davis (6-9, 2-3 Big 12) in the semifinals of the Big 12 Tournament on Thursday. Opening draw is set for 6 p.m. at Prentup Field.
The first-seeded Gators are coming off a 17-5 victory over Arizona State last Saturday to clinch the outright Big 12 Regular Season Championship. Eight different Gators scored, led by Clark Hamilton with four goals.
UC Davis comes into this matchup coming off a 13-11 victory over San Diego State last Saturday.
It is the fourth career meeting between Florida and UC Davis, with the Gators leading the all-time series 3-0. UF defeated UC Davis earlier this season by a score of 16-10 on March 28 in Davis, Calif. Hamilton and Gianna Monaco each scored four goals in the win.
In the three previous meetings, Florida has outscored the Aggies 53-21.

Florida went 5-0 in Big 12 play, winning by an average margin of 10.6 goals per contest. UF averaged 17.8 goals per game in conference play.

Frannie Hahn and Elyse Finnelle have earned Big 12 Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks, as Finnelle has won goalkeeper of the week three straight weeks. Hahn has totaled nine assists over her last two games, while Finnelle has 42 saves over her last five games on a .667 save percentage.
Davies Does Everything
Florida’s two-way midfielder Kaitlyn Davies is top-three on the team in goals (38), ground balls (24), caused turnovers (18) and draw controls (30). The junior is a Tewaaraton top-25 nominee and has logged seven hat-tricks this season. Davies played defense for the Gators last season as a sophomore.
