Softball Drops Series Finale To LSU
BATON ROUGE, La. – The No. 8/6 Florida softball team dropped its series finale to No. 10 LSU on Monday evening, falling to the Tigers 10-2 in six innings at Tiger Park.
With the win, LSU (39-11, 11-10 SEC) took the Southeastern Conference series win from the Gators (41-12, 12-9 SEC), Florida’s first series loss on the road this season.
Senior shortstop Rylee Holtorf scored both Gator runs, plating the first on a Taylor Shumaker fielder’s choice, and hitting a solo home run, her fifth long ball of the season.
The game was deadlocked at two until the bottom of the sixth inning when Tigers capitalized on free passes and timely hitting.
LSU scored eight runs on three hits, six walks and a hit-by-pitch in the frame to end the game in six innings.
